Jack Commeville
B.S. in Exercise Science
Hello,
a bit about me:
My name is Jack Commeville and I am a student at IUPUI planning to graduate in 2022 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and a certificate in personal training. I am currently in my senior year at IUPUI and plan on attending Duke University to pursue my Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Right now I am working as a Rehabilitation Aide at Athletico in Noblesville, Indiana.
When I was younger I was an avid athlete participating in any sport I could. The ones that stuck with me the most were cross country and track. Being involved in athletics my whole life shaped me into who I am. I learned a lot of valuable skills and lessons such as time management, leadership, teamwork, and resilience.
Athletics is also what lead me to figuring out what I wanted to be when I grew up. I found my career goal when I was a junior in high school. I took a sports medicine class because I had always been involved in sports and heard the teacher was cool. In that class, a physical therapist came in to discuss the ins and outs of his job, and what he said resonated with me. I did some research, figured out that the core values of physical therapy aligned with my own personal values, and it has stuck with me ever since.
I went to college at IUPUI to pursue my career in physical therapy and I am currently in my fourth year preparing to graduate as a first generation college student. I have been fortunate enough to get into Duke University's DPT program and will be attending in August.
